How long does it take to complete the MPH program?

You can choose between two specialized tracks:

-  Nutrition & Wellness: Typically 18 months (on-campus) or 2-3 years (online).

- Health Promotion & Health Education:  18 months to 2 years (on-campus) or 18 months to 2.5 years (online).

Is the Andrews University Master of Public Health (MPH) program accredited?

Yes! The Andrews University Master of Public Health (MPH) in Nutrition & Wellness and Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) programs have been re-accredited by the prestigious Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) for the maximum period of seven years, through December 2029. This re-accreditation reflects Andrews University's ongoing commitment to academic excellence, public health innovation, and the preparation of future leaders in the field.

What are the admission requirements for the MPH program?

Nutrition & Wellness

- Bachelor's degree from a certified college with at least a 3.0 GPA. Lower GPAs might still qualify, depending on overall profile.
- Co-requisites Biology or Physiology or Anatomy and Physiology. Two courses in nutrition.
- Two professional references, ideally from advisors, professors, or employers.
- A comprehensive resume detailing work experience, research, or projects
- A purpose statement highlighting your beliefs, goals, and why you're choosing this program.
- Non-native English speakers must provide TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores.

Health Promotion & Health Education 

- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and meet one of the following: a minimum 2.60 overall undergraduate GPA, a 2.75 GPA in your final undergraduate courses, a 3.00 graduate GPA on at least 8 semester credits, or already hold a master’s degree.
-Two professional references, ideally from advisors, professors, or employers.
- A comprehensive resume detailing work experience, research, or projects
- A purpose statement highlighting your beliefs, goals, and why you're choosing this program.
- Minimum TOEFL score of 80 or 6.5 on the IELTS English Proficiency if language of education was not English.

Are there prerequisite courses required for admission?

Yes, students are expected to have completed courses in Biology or Physiology (or Anatomy & Physiology) and two courses in nutrition.
